Meet Dr. Chris Frykman

"How I Chose Chiropractic As My Life's Passion"

I’ve always loved movement and the human frame.  In 2000 I decided to run my first marathon.  I had no coach and had no idea what I was doing as all my sports up until that point were more power sports than endurance.  Long story short, I ran too many miles in too short a time for my fitness level.  The day after I finished my first 15 mile training run I was relieved to be done and I started to stretch out.  When I tried to walk into my house I collapsed with excruciating knee pain.  I had over done it!

My wife drove me to the urgent care and the medical doctor told me that I wouldn’t be running any more.  She said there was nothing she could do and offered me crutches or pain relievers.  Of course neither of those alternatives gave me what I wanted.  I began looking for alternatives.

A friend introduced me to a chiropractor.  I had never even heard of chiropractic but I was desperate.  The chiropractor was very understanding that it was important to me to finish this training and run my first marathon.   (I don’t like quitting.)  In the matter of a few visits he had me back on the road and I finished my training and my first marathon!  Well, I was sold.  I dropped out of nursing school and found a chiropractic school and the rest is history.

I graduated in 2004 with a Doctorate in Chiropractic.  I did some various internships and I joined a successful practice out of school.  Time went on and I realized that I needed some breathing room.  I had to be free to offer the best health care possible with integrity.  To do that, I needed my own place.  In April of 2007 I opened Vibrant Potential.  Now I’m able to offer the highest quality services at an extremely affordable rate.

"How You Can Live Your Vibrant Potential..."

Naming my practice was extremely important to me, and a very personal process.  The name Vibrant Potential is no accident.  It holds great meaning.  Vibrant means, “ full of energy and enthusiasm”.  The word Potential comes from the latin: potentialis which means, “power” or “being able”.  Literally Vibrant Potential means I want you to have the ability to live life to it’s fullest with the energy necessary to do whatever you want.  Let me share with you what my vision for your Vibrant Potential is.

  • It is normal to jump out of bed in the morning jazzed and excited for the great opportunities that the new day holds for you.
  • It is normal to eat healthful, delicious foods and feel great because your body takes what it needs for vital energy and expels the rest so quickly that no toxins can make your experience of life, sluggish or sore.
  • It is normal to move, exercise and express yourself physically.  You reside in a physical body and using it should bring you joy.
  • It is normal to love yourself and all others.
  • It is normal to have desires and fulfill those desires.  It is normal to achieve your goals and feel fulfilled.
  • It is normal to fall asleep with ease at night and sleep beautifully all night long.  Feeling renewed with energy and vigor upon waking.

If this is how you live your life… Congratulations!  You’re achieving your own Vibrant Potential.  If some of the above sounds good but has eluded you, please come in.  I can help!

I love being a dad and spending time with my three beautiful daughters - Kara, Nora, and Emma.

In my spare time I like to race in several triathlons throughout the summer.  I instruct Taekwondo in Chaska, MN at www.rivercitymartialarts.com I also enjoy hiking, camping, soccer, golf, anything in the outdoors, and life in general.
